Jamaican Berry

JAMAICAN BERRY
Also known as Aratilis or Sareza (Filipino)

I'm also writing about the one of the most-fascinating, most-delighted, and most-cherished fruits during our childhood, we call them Sareza.

The Sareza fruits, with its small-size about less than 2 cm, can burst a taste of sweetness like a teaspoonful of honey into your taste buds. No wonder kids and even the elders are fascinated about its heavenly sweetness. A single kid can eat as much as he wanted and if you will ask me, I can spend a whole day hanging around its branches picking and eating this fruit.

But beware, having too much of this can caused extreme-diarrhea and stomach ache. And when that happens, don't worry about the remedy, just pick and boil some of its leaves and drink, it will soothe and heal the aching stomach.

Be careful also when picking this fruits 'coz in some season, Higad or Caterpillar Envenomation might sting you and can cause deep and itchy pain to your skin.

Jamaican Berry Flower

JAMAICAN BERRY or PANAMA BERRY FLOWER
Also known as Bulaklak Aratilis (Filipino)

When I was just a kid, me and my friends used to spoil this tiny little flowers using a stick or often times we picked them and tried to taste its sweet yellowish pollen.

On one particular scenario, while trying to smashed this little flowers, my late grand-ma, Lola Concha, scolded us and tried to exclaimed that if we continue to spoil this flowers, we will never get and enjoy its fruits again.

While in a hurry, trying to ignore what our Lola (Grand-ma) told us, one of my cousins named Popong, hurriedly went down but unfortunately the branch that he's holding to was cut-off and he fell to Dowey, one of our playmates and we all run-away from our irritating Lola then.

*** While writing this blog, I am having a Dejavu, that I actually already wrote this online.
